The distance matrices generated by the script output 0.0 for their distance meaning that the script was not able to read the images correctly. The script may be fine and the issue could only be related to configuration, file path and/or access control.
Investigate and fix.

There was an issue with the images' paths and the computations would default to 0.0 if one (or both) of the images could not be found. I am keeping this ticket because the script still has some issues and need to be made more robust. It works but seems it can break easily depending on the image data set.
It seems that the script will not run properly if divided up across several nodes instead of just multiple cores. Research iPyhton parallel to expand the script to run across nodes and be truly parallel.
