This project is a voice assistant built using Python. The voice assistant can perform various tasks such as responding to queries, fetching information from the web, managing your schedule, and more.

Prerequisites

Installation

  1. Clone the repository:

    git clone https://github.com/yourusername/voice-assistant.git
    cd voice-assistant
  2. Create a virtual environment and activate it:

    python -m venv venv
    source venv/bin/activate   # On Windows use `venv\Scripts\activate`
  3. Install the required dependencies:

    pip install -r requirements.txt
  4. Set up your API keys (e.g., for weather information). Create a .env file in the root directory and add your API keys:

    OPENWEATHER_API_KEY=your_openweather_api_key

Usage

  1. Run the main Python script to start the voice assistant:

    python main.py
  2. Speak your commands into the microphone. For example, you can ask:

    • "What's the weather like today?"
    • "Set a reminder for my meeting at 10 AM."
    • "Search the web for Python tutorials."
  3. The voice assistant will respond to your commands accordingly.
