The Eclipse / Gradle buildship plug-in introduced a new configuration (required gradle 5.4) that allows to execute an arbitrary gradle task before synchronizing the gradle project with the eclipse project. See the buildship release notes for more information.

We should clarify whether we can simplify our workflow with this new feature.
