yum-cloudstack-apt-get Cookbook

The yum-cloudstack-apt-get cookbook takes over management of the default repositoryids used by cloudstack-apt-get. It allows attribute manipulation of cloudstack-apt-get.

This cookbook is based on the community yum-repoforge cookbook.

Requirements

• Chef 11 or higher
• yum cookbook version 3.0.0 or higher

Attributes

The following attributes are set by default

default['yum']['cloudstack-apt-get']['repositoryid'] = 'cloudstack-apt-get'
default['yum']['cloudstack-apt-get']['description'] = 'RHEL $releasever - cloudstack-apt-get packages'
default['yum']['cloudstack-apt-get']['baseurl'] = 'http://cloudstack.apt-get.eu/rhel/4.3'
default['yum']['cloudstack-apt-get']['enabled'] = true
default['yum']['cloudstack-apt-get']['managed'] = true
default['yum']['cloudstack-apt-get']['gpgcheck'] = false

Recipes

• default - Walks through node attributes and feeds a yum_resource parameters. The following is an example a resource generated by the recipe during compilation.

  yum_repository 'cloudstack-apt-get' do
    baseurl 'http://cloudstack.apt-get.eu/rhel/4.3'
    description 'RHEL $releasever - cloudstack-apt-get packages'
    enabled true
    gpgcheck false
  end

Usage Example

To disable the cloudstack-apt-get repository through a Role or Environment definition

default_attributes(
  :yum => {
    :cloudstack-apt-get => {
      :enabled => {
        false
       }
     }
   }
 )

To enable the cloudstack-apt-get repository with a wrapper cookbook, place the following in a recipe:

node.default['yum']['cloudstack-apt-get']['enabled'] = true
node.default['yum']['cloudstack-apt-get']['managed'] = true

include_recipe 'yum-cloudstack-apt-get'

Point the base and updates repositories at an internally hosted server.
