Hi @yuens1002,

thanks for reporting this issue. Unfortunately I’m not able to test this extension on a Windows machine.

Let’s look what could be the reason for this:

  • Which version of Brackets do you use?
  • Which version of Static Preview do you use?
  • Is there a proxy installed on your system?
  • Did you restart (not reload) Brackets after changing the preferences?
  • Can you connect to localhost:3000 when you’re using the default settings?

According to this answer on superuser.com, Windows 7 doesn’t resolve 0.0.0.0. Change the default value to localhost should fix this issue. @yuens1002 Could you try this out?

yes, it worked! the thing is.... my goal with static view installed on
brackets is so that i can view/test the site i'm building using another
devices on the same network. i remember using "mixture" which had that
functionality baked in when i tested the software.

I’m glad that the issue could be fixed so easily, I’ll change the default hostname in one of the next releases.

Testing a site on multiple devices at the same time is the reason I created this extension. Just need a bit more research on how to implement livereload properly.
