Publishers/webmasters have asked whether e.g. a Webinar is a suitable candidate for describing as a schema.org Event. The current subtypes and definitions emphasise things with a physical location that you might attend in person.

The Event type was never meant to be so restricted, e.g. the decision to model Actions as a parallel rather than subtype was largely pragmatic.

we did this via a property + enumeration, so that it can be combined with existing types more easily:
