Hi, I pushed PEP 720 where I refer to scikit-build cross-compilation support. It was based on my understanding of scikit-build's cross-compilation support, but I wanted to reach out and try to get better understanding of how work, and how well they work. What is the status quo?

Thank you for working on this! I'll try to detail the current status soon, probably in such a way that is useful for you & PEP 720 as well as something we can put into our documentation. Currently in conferences (technically 6 (actually 4) in three weeks!), so will probably be ~2 weeks before I can properly write it up.

Friendly ping, in case you forgot. No pressure though, I am not in a rush.

Some docs additions. Works toward addressing
scikit-build/scikit-build#1013.
