Following my new favourite VTune profiler I discovered python2.7 launched every time I open scipion. Turns out that python comes from a phenix plugin, since defineVariables includes a call to getPhenixVersion that executes phenix command https://github.com/scipion-em/scipion-em-phenix/blob/devel/phenix/__init__.py#L106
I don't think this is a good practice and the version should be guessed in a different way

I see. An alternative is to open the file phenix.version (bash file) and search for variable PHENIXVERSION. We will implement that
