Doe Island Marine State Park is a tiny dot on the map next to Orcas Island, but as an island destination, you could not ask for more.

Once on terra firma, the island's 0.3-mile perimeter loop is a short, rugged hike, so bring your good boots and trekking poles. Campsites are first come, first served, and all provide glorious views. The island's rocky south side features two pocket coves perfect for beaching a kayak.

While the south and east sides are stony and bare, the island's north and west sides are pleasantly shaded, and Orcas Island is visible across the narrow channel that separates little Doe from its mammoth neighbor.

  • 0.3 miles of hiking trails
  • 60 feet of dock
  • The park has five campsites, each with a table and stove. There is one vault toilet and a loop trail on the island. Camping is available on a first come, first served basis. Camping fees are in place year-round. Campers must self-register and pay fees at the bulletin board/pay station.
