A simplistic approach seems to work: looking for JAR entries that start with META-INF/versions/ and using that to trigger adding Multi-Release: true to the manifest.

I'm going to cut a new release with this feature added (so we can use it at work), but I won't announce it until I've picked an expert's brain about MRJAR stuff!
