Companion Planting: make it evidence based // calculate relations?

Is it possible to somehow calculate or guesstimate how much two plants will like each other (e.g. based on their families)?

Is there other reaserch on companion planting?

idea: have fields for each plant that we could use to generate explanations.
(e.g. repels mice -> might affect all root vegetables)
