#21543 is introducing some changes that makes the document load event to be delayed forever in some cases. The issue can be reproduced (and is the reason of the WPTs timeouts) running at least the following WPTs:

  • /html/semantics/embedded-content/media-elements/ready-states/autoplay.html
  • /html/semantics/embedded-content/media-elements/ready-states/autoplay-with-slow-text-tracks.html
  • /html/semantics/embedded-content/media-elements/location-of-the-media-resource/currentSrc.html (this one also fails because of Implement support for selecting media element source from children #21481)
