node-gyp is required?

Hi:

I was getting an "error addLocal Could not install..."
Turns out when I npm installed -g node-gyp, the error went away.

Is node-gyp required? If so, maybe point out that dependency somewhere.

(I got the idea to try node-gyp first from iandotkelly's answer on http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10153317/cannot-install-bcrypt-node-js-module-on-centos-server.)

Sorry, but did you intend to open this issue for node.bcrypt.js? That is the module that SO question referrers to and this is the error people commonly encounter with that module.
