for another hackternoon :) - http://activitystrea.ms

i would just focus on JSON and pretty much ingnore Atom for now...
http://activitystrea.ms/specs/json/1.0/

looking at: http://activitystrea.ms/specs/json/schema/activity-schema.html i see:

  • offer
  • request
  • borrow
  • return
  • give
  • receive
  • purchase
  • sell
  • use
  • consume
  • approve
  • reject

so far i miss only

  • lend

  • recover

    :)

we could use it to define types of sharing which would automatically generate related activities...

could you maybe create a sharingAPI label and assign it to this issue and another one about oEmbed ? it seams that i can't assign labels here...

This sounds good in general. So the idea would be that the activities of a sharetribe user would be available in ActivityStreams format and thus it could be easily shown in sites that support that? Do you have an idea in mind where you'd like to get the activity going?

Does Facebook use this or something else for it's activities from apps (e.g. what people listen in spotify)?

Good suggestion about labels, there starts to be bit more issues on the list now. (Thanks for listing them!) so using labels starts to make sens to keep bit organized. I'll put few others now too.

@elf-pavlik And I also added you to our Admin Developers team. :) Thanks for all your contributions, and hopefully less obstacles for that in the future. E.g. that should free give access to managing labels.

also StatusNet (biggest node identi.ca) starts to shut down and Evan moves now to work on http://pump.io fully based around AS...

@gnomet thanks for adding labels and adding me to team here :)

possibly better to go with schema.org and use sub types of:
http://schema.org/Action

in particular:

yeah! really fresh stuff with this Action subtree of schema.org, still work in progress but Google, Yahoo, Bing and Yandex collaborate on developing those common schemas!

i'll keep playing with it in next days, already submitted some feedback on current state of it: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-vocabs/2013Nov/0200.html

also for https://jobs.ouishare.net we can try using http://schema.org/JobPosting and this way have nice way to syndicate original postings from organizational websites of those who create posting and other hubs can syndicate them easily as well... eg. http://www.collaborativeconsumption.com/job-board/
