Some of my groups have zombie contacts, that is, old numbers of people who lost their phone or simply forgot to quit the group before switching to a new number.
When sending to such a group the message is marked with an exclamation mark, indicating an error.
When clicking on the message the details correctly indicate that only this single (no longer existing) contact produced an "Invalid response".
However, as contacts can currently not be removed from groups, the simple exclamation mark is misleading and will lead average users into thinking that their group conversation is completely broken.
Signal for Android experienced a similar problem, which was discussed in signalapp/Signal-Android#2408. The current state of the phone app is that such group members are simply ignored from a user perspective, which is a good until users can be deleted from groups.

Running into this same problem, we're on the 3rd iteration of one of our groups now due to it. When a user unregisters, messages fail randomly when sent to that group (I've seen "everyone gets this message", "someone gets this message", and "no one gets this message"). The current workaround is to make a new group with the remaining members...
Definitely still seeing this. It means that groups are destined to suffer and need to be abandoned sooner or later. Completely ruins the product experience.
