The community chair position is now open for nominees. Contributors (commits or issues raised / past attendance to the community meetings) who are active in sigstore can self nominate. please drop you name below, with a quick bio and why you think you would be suited for the role.

We should probably clarify the role a bit so people know what they're getting into. My understanding is that the role is mostly to organize and facilitate the weekly community meetings, including curating the agenda. Is there anything else I'm missing?

Yep good point:

  • Pre-set the agenda before the meeting
  • Record the meeting
  • Work through the agenda during the meeting, while making sure either yourself or someone else takes minutes.
  • Timebox discussions if needed and consider if they could use a break out.

Hey folks, I'd like to nominate myself. I'm Tracy Miranda, a veteran of working with large-scale open source projects including Eclipse and Jenkins. My current role is helping make open source secure by default at Chainguard. It would be an honour to serve the community in this role as we all work towards the shared mission of making software signing with Sigstore ubiquitous!

When should we close this? I'd suggest we keep it open until at least Friday May 6th.

End of week is what I had in mind. I want to announce it to the community meeting and then let the week play out for nominations.
