xWall is a project aimed to fuck China GFW.
Several days ago, the GFW poisoned DNS server, and then github.com is out of accessibility. To continue visiting github.com, I had to modify my hosts file. Then github.com is recovered, but the visiting speed is insufferable, it took almost about one hour for me to clone a very small project!! I believe this is affected by GFW, since it never does good.
Before github, GFW blocked many other nice websites, youtube, facebook, and twitter etc. I can bear it because I do not visit them too much. But, I cannot bear it any more now because github.com is one of my favourite site!
So then, xWall is born, aimed to fuck GFW, its structure is like goagent:
browser => local proxy => remote proxy => real site
Currently I have finished coding of local proxy, based on Netty, a very nice NIO framework of Java.
goagent is very nice, but I want more, I want xWall to proxy all my requests, and then does proxy according to GFW blacklist: proxy for the sites on the list, and visit other sites directly, so I will not need to switch proxy manually.
And another reason: goagent is only available for GAE, but I want to use more PaaS services, such as OpenShift, Heroku, etc.
xWall is a project designed for myself, you may fork it if you find it is also useful to you.
