It may show a different error depending on whether or not it's an invalid value (not a number) or is empty when it's required. Do neither of these situations show the custom message?
yes if i have a alphabetical value in the numeric field it does show one message and if i have a number that is not valid it does show another message. the thing I want to do is create a custom error message that displays if the user inputs the wrong value (both situations). There is a field on the cms that says you can use to set the custom error but it does not change anything. for me atleast , dont know if I am doing it wrong
It looks as though the custom error message only works with:
server side errors
on "required field not provided"
So there's some limitation in core that's making this feature not work properly. It's not going to work for invalid range, or type errors, and it won't show up via jquery validate rules. Some work is obviously needed here!
I am unable to make the Custom error message show on my numeric field...
It just shows the default error.
