Remove trailing whitespace of content

Hi,

I just tried the library for the first time and it works really nicely, the only thing that makes it complicated to use is the trailing whitespace that is being inserted after the content. I guess I understand the reasoning why it's there, but it makes it unnecessarily complicated to provide custom spacers and margins via CSS.

As an example, I wanted a border after the text with some padding which results in something like this:

Would be great if that trailing white space was a config setting.
