Fix Bugs

There were a couple of potentially damaging bugs in 1.5.0, one was the labels being out of sync with the two different step attributes competing. Merged in from https://github.com/dkuzevanov (thanks).

Also made clicking on pips/labels less glitchy, should work nicely now.
Also some performance improvements.
