DS audio directly streams from your NAS at home and allows to access your music library from everywhere, like your own music cloud. The app doesn't feature last.fm support itself and the SLS doesn't recognize DS audio yet.

App in playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.synology.DSaudio&hl=de
Website of synology: http://www.synology.com/
Synology Wiki: http://forum.synology.com/wiki/index.php/Home

They also host a lot of forums, in which many people ask for last.fm support in the apps. SLS would be a great answer at least for the android users! Synology also offers a lot of support and the community itself is also pretty helpful.

Thumbs up man, you're doing some highly appreciated work out there!

this is nice but it makes more sense to me to include the lastfm/audioscrobbler function into the server in the dsm instead of a remote app. also, im not an android user.. so that would take care of both/all sides instead of leaving any non-android in the cold.

I agree with jeffpeppers. Scrobbling server side is the way to go.

As do I. SLS only works on android devices though, so another approach is needed.

SLS support for the app might be useful though, especially if you are sharing the music with others. Or just for the fun of it.

Just wondering if there was any movement on getting SLS to recognize and scrobble from DS Audio? Support would be useful because I'd like to scrobble the music I listen to. I can use DS Audio to stream music from my Synology NAS at home rather than having to download any music I want to play using a currently recognized music app to my phone.

Just thought I would let others know...

Using Nexus 4 (4.4.2), SLS (1.4.6) & DSAudio (3.2) on Android and scrobbling just works for me now.

Not sure if the issue is "resolved" as I imagine support isn't specifically implemented maybe just the new NotificationListenerService working some magic?

I use this: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/synology-scrobbler/inhnabmplpgcoonojlghompiddbcabhg?hl=en in Chrome, so there's cross platform for the browser :)

I wish SLS had an iOS version.. or equivalent, for that matter

I just sent in a request to DS Audio for intents or details regarding the solution that has maybe already been found, as I do not have a Synology NAS account to test this with.
@justinhorner Super! Glad it's working.
Can anybody else report similar results as @justinhorner so we can close this issue?

As @justinhorner has explained, has this been resolved for any of you?

@HumbleBeeBumbleBee I uninstalled SLS long ago, I'll have to give it another try later. My Synology volume is crashed at the moment, waiting on new HDD's to re-populate my data.

@HumbleBeeBumbleBee I have been using SLS to scrobble from DS Audio App just fine for a while now.
The DS Audio app broadcasts playing notifications and I believe SLS makes use of that.
Or just Notification Listener doing its thing.

I'm on a samsung s4 on android 5.1.1 with SLS 1.4.9 and DS Audio 3.8.1 and SLS does not recognize the DS Audio app no matter what I do. I've been trying for over the past year now and nothing has gotten it to work. Anyone having it actually show up in SLS besides @justinhorner and @avluis?

I haven't used my nas to play music in over a year after an update busted the audioplayer for me and I was going to have to move my entire library. Best of luck to everyone! :) (muting thread)

SLS + DS Audio works for me right now, i.e. both played tracks and "scrobbling now" appear on my last.fm page.
DS Audio 3.12.0, SLS 1.5.2. CyanogenMod 13 (Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow). Samsung S4 Mini GT-I9190.

Update: doesn't work after a reboot, nothing appears in last.fm. I tried enabling/disabling scrobbling, starting/stopping the tracks - nothing. I have no doubt that it worked initially - I checked multiple times with multiple different tracks.

@VsevolodGolovanov after you rebooted your phone or NAS?
Have you tried enabling "OnGoing"?

@HumbleBeeBumbleBee, the phone.
I haven't, I kept Options=Standard. Sorry, I just now noticed the troubleshooting readme. I'll try the suggested solutions and observe more.

Scrobbling to both last.fm and ListenBrainz through SLS seems to be working for me, after I disabled the battery saving. I’ll continue experimenting rebooting the phone and see… Xiaomi’s phones are prone to too many unwanted optimizations.

@arkhi > SLS doens't detect DS Audio on my xiami mi5, how did you manage to make it works ?

@pnizet Here are some screenshots of the settings I have on my phone.

Beside what I mentioned already in my answer, I can’t think of anything else! Let us know if that helped; thank you.

PS: Nice photos. :)

For android devices running 21 aka Lollipop or higher this should resolve any app issues.
