democracy@eff.org - 550 Unrouteable address

I attempted to send an email to democracy@eff.org, the contact address for democracy.io. I received a bounce from Google's mail delivery subsystem stating:

Address not found

Your message wasn't delivered to democracy@eff.org because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail.

The response was:
550 Unrouteable address

It is reproducible. But where this email address is used? I canot find it on the site or the code.
