target audience is the public; and it should be informational about what their dept. is up to, and upcoming information. Static info about the dept, such as about us, mission, etc. is secondary to getting info out

Focus:

  • getting it published asap!
  • news/advisories
  • can punt on community and a lot of the about for now

    • Announcement (upcoming trainings, votes, notable events?)
    • Dept. Highlights (perhaps video blogs?)

    • Member Profile (use to link from the about/members section)

  • Meetings

Behavior: show the most recent 2 advisories, and most recent 4 news item summaries.

get everything we missed in v1 that launched, like a services page.

  • add a stats section on the front page: this could be more 'widget' type and see if we can API/scrap this... lets discuss if we want historical info as a collection
  • Perhaps balance that widget with a current burn status, link to permit, and Fire Danger status... lets NOT just automatically link to the Fire Marshal's website!!
  • fill in content; modify and expand as needed
    • add members section
    • flush out community
  • expand the type of news items
