As I described here: http://developer.appcelerator.com/question/175655/titaniumplatformdisplaycapsdpi-gives-wrong-value-on-samsung-galaxy-mega-63#answer-280276

Ti.Platform.displayCaps.dpi won't return the actual DPI value of the display. It's broken down to the DPI value of the according class (mdpi, hdpi, xhdpi, etc.)
