What is a Container Blot?

The docs only cover these three blots: Block, Inline and Embed. However, if we look at how the List blot is built it inherits from the Container blot.

What exactly does a Container blot do and when it should be used?

Blots have to either provide content (text/embeds) or formatting (bold, italic) otherwise they are considered unnecessary and removed. Containers are an exception to that since in valid HTML there is sometimes redundant markup. Containers are still somewhat experimental and its interface is not stable so they are not documented yet.
