Here, you will find documentation about the Foundry system for Dungeons & Dwarves, with all the features and explanations of functions.

Character Sheet

In this section, you will find functions of the separate parts of the character sheet and a list of functions or automatizations that you should know when using the system.

Character Sheet features and functions

The player character sheet is mostly dependent on player or GM input, but it has several functions, and features that simplify or automate a few of the core rules of Dungeons & Dwarves. Here you can find a list of all the functions, with an explanation if needed.

  • Class Type
    • The class type will be explained when discussing the Main Panel.
    • Its function is partially informative with a type of class based on the rules.
    • It also functions as input for several QoL automatizations such as the speed of the character, the maximum value of HP and mana dice and the type.
  • Speed 🏃
    • Speed in Dungeons & Dwarves has two values, one classic in feet, and the second one in seconds. The second value is not special it is just another QoL thing that makes Dungeons & Dwarves different from 5E. You can find more about it in the rulebook.
    • The speed is automatically selected after you select Class Type on the main panel.
  • Max HP and Mana dice 🎲
    • The maximum value of mana and Hit Point dice show the maximum number of hit dice the character has.
    • The maximum is derived automatically from the level of the character.
    • If the class type of the character does not support mana, the maximum of the mana hit dice will be automatically set to zero.
  • HP and Mana dice type 🎲
    • HP and mana dice have a specific type. You can find more about it in the rulebook.
    • This type is based on the class type, and it is automatically selected with the class type.
    • If the class type of the character does not support mana, it will automatically be set to none.
  • Amour Class 🛡️
  • Armour class is one of the main stats of Dungeons & Dwarves, it tells you if you hit an enemy or on the contrary. You can find more about it in the rulebook.
  • In this system, the AC is calculated automatically based on the AC of equipped armour, AC bonus, and dexterity modifier.
  • XP Milestone
    • After the XP value, you can find the XP milestone, which signifies the number of XP characters needed to get for advancement to the next level.
    • The milestone automatically changes to the next with the change of the level value.
  • Proficiencies
    • Proficiencies have several parts to it. Proficient ability selector, proficiency bonus, and AC bonus. More about proficiencies and main abilities can be found in the rulebook.
    • With a proficiency selector, the player or GM can select in which ability is the character proficient.
    • Proficiency bonus, is a bonus which counts towards the proficient ability. If an ability is selected in the proficiency selector, the proficiency bonus will be automatically added to the ability. Warning‼️ The value of the selected ability will not be changed, but the modifier will change as if the value corresponds to ability value + proficiency bonus.
    • AC bonus will be automatically added to the AC of the character if filled.
  • Rolls
    • This system has several rollable items.
    • Ability Modifiers
      • If you click on the ability modifier, it will automatically roll 1d20 + ability modifier (Ability roll)
    • HP and Mana dice
      • If the character uses hit dice (HP or mana) on short rest. The player can roll the dice (HP or Mana) based on the dice type if he clicks on the title (HP Dice or Mana Dice)
    • Weapon, Itemsm Skills and Magic
      • If a weapon, skill or spell has a damage roll or an item has an effect it can be rolled by clicking on the item picture in the inventory.
  • Adding number
    • In almost all number fields on the character sheet you can add and subtract numbers to current values just by writting +(number) or -(number).
    • Also works on quantity of items, and ammo count.
  • Item Counter
    • On the right side above the inventory you can see how many items are in your inventory (not counting equipped items).
    • If the number exceeds your inventory size the counter will warn you about it.
  • Inventory size
    • Above the inventory, there is a selector for inventory size. This selector does not limit the number of items you can physically put in the inventory but changes the limit on the Item counter.
