Shortcode for just current event post?

I'm currently developing a website for a client and I want the shortcode to only display the event that it's currently on, not all events. any way to do this?

There is currently no shortcode to display the event that is currently on.
You can try to mimic it by setting start and end times, eg [wpt_events start="-1 hour" end="+1 hour"], but that may not be good enough.

The best way to do this is by adding a new shortcode with a couple of lines of code in the functions.php of your (chlild) theme.
