CustomTextView

An android widget that (for now only) enables adding a custom font from XML layout

Unlike most of custom text views published, this one maintains textStyle (bold, italic, normal) that you set, and also works if font is not set.

Plans exist to further enhance this library, but that'll happen when there's more spare time :)

Preview in Android Studio 2.2+ should be fully working. I cannot guarnatee for earlier editions.

Step 1. Add it in your root build.gradle at the end of repositories:

Step 2. Add the dependency

Getting started

Adding a font .ttf to your project in assets/fonts/ folder, eg:

assets/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.ttf
assets/fonts/UnifrakturCook-Bold.ttf
assets/fonts/Tangerine_Regular.ttf

Adding a custom widget in xml

First make sure you import namespace for custom views in your layout's root view, eg:

    xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
    xmlns:custom="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
    android:layout_width="match_parent"

Then you can use fontTypeFaceAsset in your CustomTextView:
