Default parameters for ssh commands

Hello,

I have created a step-ca server that will be used to issue short lived ssh certificates. I am now developing a script to setup client machines to use this certificate authority to obtain those short lived certificates. The flow I have in my head is to simply use the commands step ssh login and step ssh config with --ca-url and --root parameters. I do not want to use the bootstrap command as it saves the root certificate on the machine.

The problem is that when I call the ssh command it checks the host compatiblity using step ssh check-host automatically. This command does not contain any of the --ca-url and --root parameters and fails immediately. How can I setup for these default parameters to be used?

I was going through the code now and found this

**--ca-url** is set using environment variables (as STEP_CA_URL) or the default
configuration file in <$STEPPATH/config/defaults.json>.

**--root** is set using environment variables (as STEP_ROOT), the default
configuration file in <$STEPPATH/config/defaults.json> or the default root
certificate located in <$STEPPATH/certs/root_ca.crt>

Will try and get back if it works.
