Debug mode

Describe the bug

When installing snipeit you get the composer warning "Package patchwork/utf8 is abandoned, you should avoid using it. Use symfony/polyfill-mbstring or symfony/string instead."
patch follows on its heels (needed only an open issue)

Reproduction steps

  1. install snipeit from scratch
  2. or do "composer update"

...

Expected behavior

should be replaced with maintained module according to warning
