FACEBOOK: send message #57
Comments
hey @michielbdejong do you know how to send private messages on facebook? you were mentioning this could be done (everything but accept friend requests) but I can't find anything on it. (i do see read messages, but not send)... the only other way would be email, but then you don't appear as being from your profile, it shows up differently, and it's not clear how a conversation/thread would work/look). |
damn, that's a bummer. |
Doesn't support facebook mail-in via {username}@facebook.com? |
yes, it does. you can send messages, but it wont be from your account. On Mon, Mar 11, 2013 at 12:12 PM, Niklas Cathor notifications@github.comwrote:

btw - if you send from the email you have linked to facebook, then it will show up as being from your facebook account. |
the bummer to this feature is that we can't use the existing facebook API token to send messages. they need to put in email credentials for smtp. so instead of just getting an access token for a facebook-enabled app, it would need to get the access token and ask for smtp settings :( |
