This is a Testnet release. It is not recommended for Mainnet Beta

Changes

  • Save ~2GB memory on testnet and mainnet-beta by smarter validator's vote data allocation
  • Fixed invalid snapshot generation under heavy RPC request load
  • Enable validator accounts caching by default (the --accounts-db-caching-enabled flag is now silently ignored). The new --no-accounts-db-caching flag will disable accounts caching
  • Introduce new, more clear and correct commitment terminology
  • Add active installation version information to solana-install info subcommand
  • Add solana calculate-rent subcommand
  • Exchange and security best practices documentation improvements
  • RPC, command-line and BPF VM stability fixes
  • Reduce validator INFO log verbosity
  • Upgrade to Rust v1.49.0
  • New solana-test-validator arguments, --warp-to-slot and --clone, to better simulate aspects of mainnet-beta in a development environment
  • Duplicate shreds are now broadcast through gossip
