I'd like to propose using the full english spelling instead of latin abbreviations in spec text as per this comment on the WAC ED: #83 (comment)

Use of latin abbreviations makes the text harder to parse, to me at least. I don't know if anyone has further evidence on the subject or experiences the same issue.

In the case of the WAC ED, for example, it would be a matter of replacing "e.g." with "for example" and "i.e." with "that is" or "in other words".

... and correcting punctuation after such replacements.
