As mentioned in solo-io/gloo#1793, the gogo coversion code in Gloo is a bit out of hand. And now that the go-control-plane has switched to go proto, we should as well. It will allow for easier integration of envoy APIs in the future, as well as protoc-gen-validate, and remove the need for all of the conversion code.
