The filesystem update after an item is removed from the database takes a bit longer than just the SQL, and noticeably longer for media stored on a cloud filesystem. But in some cases, there's really no reason for the user to sit around and wait for the filesystem to clean up when the underlying data is ready to go.
Laravel's core filesystem doesn't seem to offer anything for queueable filesystem operations like this, but this extension could run the SQL delete and subsequently queue the call to delete from the filesystem. Opt-in, of course, via something like
asyncDelete()
on a media item or something.Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
