This is a punch list of open questions from the 2021-12-07 Tech Team meeting. Please comment on this issue with any discussion, proposed answers, or additional questions you have:

  • Do we need Comments on External Reference?
  • We need to define the types of external references.

Question: when talking about ExternalReference types, do we mean the format of the link or the type of entity expected on the other side of that link? For links, I don't think there's a reason to list those, but for expected entity, I think that would help automation a great deal. For the purposes of discussion, I'll start by asking if an ExternalReference type can be the same as classes in the existing model.

Is the list of external reference types still being worked on or can this issue be closed?

Edit: I noticed that most of the types in the section F.3 Package Manager of the 2.3 specification don't have a counterpart in 3.0, yet. I'm talking about maven-central, npm, nuget and bower. Should these be part of ExternalReferenceType?

@armintaenzertng - is there another issue opened for the external reference types needed for migration? If so, we can probably close this issue.

You are right, Gary, there is #81 to track the migration process which includes the issues discussed here.
I think we can close this issue.
