Darklang is a platform to make it as easy as possible to code backends, including features that don't exist in any other language or platform:
- invisible infrastructure
- deployless - deploy in 50ms
- Trace-Driven development
The project is built by a small team led by Paul Biggar, formerly founder and CEO of CircleCI, and CS PhD, who started the project in 2017.
You can try darklang today in public beta.
About sponsorships
Our goal is to have the entire Darklang platform and development sustained by our users, at the moment using sponsorships and in the future using paid accounts. We'd appreciate users and those who hope to use Darklang in the future to sponsor us in having a sustainable language and platform for the long term.
Current work
Our work at the moment is aiming to get Darklang production ready, paying team members and infrastructure costs while we build out the platform. Our focus right now:
- overhauling the language - adding types end-to-end
- adding "deployless" workflow, including DB migrations, branches, and pull requests
- adding a package manager and a User module
See our blog for recent releases and project updates.
