π Hello!
I am a backend developer and I love Open Source - especially when it is written in Go.
I started pdfcpu because I had a requirement for processing big PDF files and I wanted to seize the opportunity to learn Go. Quickly pdfcpu snowballed from a primitive PDF parser into a full fledged PDF processing library as feature requests and issues started rolling in.
I love to interact with the community and it is a joy noticing pdfcpu is used all over the world. Still, in the long run it can get hard remaining motivated and sometimes nice feedback is just not enough to justify all the long hours and sacrifices I put into the work as a project maintainer.
If you are a pdfcpu user your π contribution means a lot!!
- It ensures pdfcpu stays alive and will survive as an open source project.
- It is the only way that can get me somewhere near sustainability.
If you are a start-up, a business, a corporation invested in Go and are betting on pdfcpu, please evaluate and compare to alternatives written in Go, which are mostly commercial. Please talk to your superior and encourage pdfcpu sponsorship.
I'd love to be working on pdfcpu full time and I am sure the community shares my opinion. Let's make this the best PDF processor written in Go that's out there π
Thanks for your time π
