Informations

Localization

Handled by the Rails I18n part.

It currently handles:

  • English (:en)

  • Italian (:it)

  • … _additional translations are welcome !_

The language selection policy is currently:

  • Firstly check if the http parameter locale is given. In that case use the provided locale

  • Then check if there is the Accept-Language HTTP header (following the RFC 2616 conventions). If it’s given, use that locale

  • Then use GeoIP to find the right locale from the current geographical position of the client

  • Finally use the default locale (which is currently :it)

Analytics

It uses GoogleAnalytics, which is configured in the application.rb. The configuration parameters are:

  • Id (in the format of: ‘UA-xxxxxxx-x’)

  • Domain: (e.g.: ‘example.com’)

Rake tasks

See rake -T

The most useful tasks are:

  • Database initialization: bundle exec rake db:migrate

  • Run tests: bundle exec rake test:all

  • Generate documentation: bundle exec rake doc:rails or bundle exec rake doc:app

Deployment instructions

Deployment can be handled with Capistrano. The main configuration files are:

  • config/deploy.rb: The capistrano configuration

*Don’t use it at the moment. It hasn’t been tested yet*
