Problem Desc

When you pick certain emojis they show up as grayed out in various apps.

Example of Google Keep and the Emoji Keyboard:

I picked the helmet and showed up as old school greyed out emoji.

Definitely noticing a trend. All the "old" emoji's have problems. Wonder where the cut of is? I'm guessing it has something to do w/ this:

This chart shows when each emoji was first defined. It includes both emoji characters and sequences. The detailed Counts are as described in §3 Which Characters are Emoji. Some emoji before 2015 (and all emoji before 2010) are proleptic (they were only later considered emoji).

Original Issue

The heart ❤ emoji is not working properly in apps like Microsoft Teams and on certain websites like user voice. Interesting though, it is working her in GitHub.

Interesting... probably related to this:

Note: the Unicode character name “Heavy Black Heart” pre-dates color emoji, when the term referred to a solid, black ❤︎ heart character. See the glossary for information on the term black in unicode character names.
