The author of the term crate does not have time to maintain it and is looking
for a new maintainer.

Some maintained alternatives you can potentially switch to instead, depending
on your needs:

• crossterm
• termcolor
• yansi

libpnet/libpnet#355

Not much we can do currently, except switch dependencies. We only use pnet to look up the ip of the host running our agent, if we make specifying an ip mandatory we can skip that, or I can look for a different crate that offers this functionlity.

If there's no obvious alternative that takes less than 15 minutes to implement I'd suggest to ignore this. It's unmaintained but no actual issues are known at the moment as far as I can tell.

There is https://docs.rs/nix/0.20.0/nix/ifaddrs/index.html which might work - but I've already spent 10 minutes looking and don't think I'll have it implemented in five, so will let it rest for now.

We have now a dependency to the nix crate anyway. The implementation would take 30 minutes.
