Description: A composite likelihood method for inferring evolutionary
parameters using genetic data. Given a model of the evolutionary history of
two biological populations as well as genetic data from multiple individuals
from each population, it estimates model parameters like the time of
separation of both species.
Description: A composite-likelihood, simulation-based parameter estimation method.
It is designed for situations where the data is assumed to be a vector of independent
and approximately Poisson distributed variables, but the expectations of the distributions
depend on the model parameters in an unknown way. Hence, it is not possible to
evaluate the likelihood function directly. It fits Generalized Linear
Models to simulated data to approximate the composite-likelihood function.
Originally, it was developed to infer the evolutionary
history of two populations from genetic data, but it is not limited to this settings.
