That's a lot of shortcuts :)

I'm quite unhappy with the way the camera is managed currently but I just can't find the time/motivation to work on it right now.

The blender camera hotkeys are pretty crap tbh. You either need to lift your hand off your mouse and use the keyboard pad. Personally I just activate the emulate numpad option and use the numbers with my left hand right from where it usually lies down on the keyboard. I think a UI element in a corner looking like a cube does the job nicely, like other 3d packages.

Nah, Blender hotkeys aren't bad at all. The important functionality are:

Top/Bottom
Left/Right
Front/Back
