Because the device doesn't depend on itself the existing code won't remove the device we are trying to modify from the list. Resolves: rhbz#1955942
To prevent devices being added multiple times and removed only once. Related: rhbz#1955942

Because the filter is a list internally we can add a device multiple times to it and remove it only once when we decide to use the device.
