I propose that we fork http://wiki.ros.org/rqt_bag?distro=hydro as a basis and hack it into what we want as a first go. This means removing the 'record' functionality, and hooking it into the datacentre. If nobody else is looking into this, I could...

That looks like a good idea. We don't currently have the data logged in a finalised format, but if you could make your work independent of how the data is encoded (although it will probably look like the way the message store stores it, with the extra necessary meta) then that would be fine.

Has there been any progress on this? @Jailander and @markrosoft need this in short time, so before we start hacking, an update would be welcome.

I'm starting on a GUI-less version for now. I'll hopefully have a prototype up and running in the next few days.
