On most Mac keyboards F1 is an awkward reach which requires repositioning the hand from typing position (thumb to fn key in bottom left corner of the keyboard). This is slow and bad for people with repetitive stress injuries and similar problems. It would be nice if this could be changed to something more ergonomic. Cmd-D worked well in the past, but that is currently used for class definitions.
