Describe the bug with a clear and concise description of what the bug is.

While I still haven't managed to get GoToSocial to successfully follow a Bookwyrm account, I am able to find profiles and search for individual posts by URL, and once the post has federated over, it appears on the remote profile as expected.

Problem: Bookwyrm is a book review site, and the title of the review -- usually something like "Review of This Book (5 stars): I liked it and here's why" -- doesn't get included in GTS' representation of the post. This means the important context of what book they're reviewing is missing!

I've confirmed this using Elk, Pinafore and Tusky. They all handle the post length differently, but none of them include the title.

Here's a sample review URL you can search for in GTS to see what I mean:
https://bookwyrm.social/user/KelsonReads/review/445260/s/a-great-read-not-just-for-codifying-vampire-lore-but-the-way-its-built-from-letters-and-diaries

For comparison:

  • Mastodon just displays the title, a preview image and a link back to the original.
  • Calckey displays the title, the full post text, and the preview image (plus link previews)
  • GoToSocial displays only the post text.
