This PR updates our docs to drop the silly duplication we had between
README.mdanddocs/index.md. Instead,README.mdis now just imported (selectively) intodocs/index.mdso we don't have to keep maintaining two versions of essentially the same document. To achieve this without breaking stuff, relative links inREADME.mdwere changed into absolute links.Also updates and rearranges various bits and bobs in the readme, and updates the roadmap a bit as well.
