The gum shield doesn't protect from basket-ball squashing

After testing, it appears that this is caused by the basket-ball touching the kart for several frames. As a consequence, the shield is dropped on the first frame with contact, and squashing is applied in the following frames.

The first contact should give the kart a short temporary immunity to basket-ball squashing.
