Why there is no reference to GNU Octave? #37
Comments
A callout box linking to Octave would be very welcome.

This is just a draft but I think it would be nice to reference GNU Octave in the lessons. It seems that the outputs are indeed obtained from Octave instead of MATLAB. See Issue for more information swcarpentry#37

I am surprised with the fact that GNU Octave does not appear during the lessons. As a perfect free an open source alternative, I would like to know if there is an special reason for this :)
Specially since:
help mean
command!Note: I am reviewing the lessons and still not sure whether these are 100% compatible with GNU Octave
